Danli was born in 1998 in Guangzhou, China. She was raised in an artists’ family with a childhood full of music, painting, sculpture, and other forms of art. At 14, she decided to study abroad in America. From age 14~17, she attended a Waldorf school in Ghent, NY. At 17, she was accepted into the early college, Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, MA. Danli has pursued a Major in Visual Studies, with a minor in Psychology. She bought her first camera when she was 18 and ever since she has been obsessed with documenting all aspects of her life. Her work is focused deeply on her native culture and her adopted culture in America. She uses the camera as a tool to tell different stories. Danli loves life, nature, people, animals, kids, and laughter. She believes that everything is interesting and worth being documented. When Danli is not behind the camera, she is usually playing with her poodle Pebbles, or busy making pottery.
